Bud Nocera, VISIT FLORIDA’s President and Chief Executive Officer, originally joined the corporation in 1997 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Nocera’s primary focus has been developing a strategic plan for visitor services, marketing, and domestic and international sales. His skills in destination marketing, sales and public relations have significantly impacted the way Florida is promoted both domestically and internationally.
Mr. Nocera has more than 30 years of experience in tourism sales and marketing. Before joining
VISIT FLORIDA, his destination marketing career began in 1980 in Jacksonville, where he was the first person to serve as director of tourism sales at the Jacksonville Convention and Visitors Bureau. In 1983, he became the founding executive director of the Lee County Visitor and Convention Bureau. In addition, he also served as vice president of community services at The Florida Aquarium in Tampa and was director of marketing and tourism for the City of Fort Myers. Mr. Nocera graduated with a B.A. degree in communications from the University of South Florida, Tampa.
