Lynn Minges was appointed to the position of Executive Director of the North Carolina Division of Tourism, Film, and Sports Development in November 1999. She reports directly to Commerce Secretary Jim Fain and has been with the NC Department of Commerce in various leadership roles since 1992.

Lynn serves on the national board of directors for the Travel Industry Association of America, is an executive member of the National Council of State Travel Directors where she has chaired and served on numerous committees. She is a past chair and active board member of Travel South USA, and is a member of the board of Southeast Tourism Society. She also serves on the Business Advisory Council of the John A. Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University.

She was also recognized recently by Triangle Business Journal with their “Outstanding Women in Business Award.”

She hails from Bladen County and is a graduate of Peace College and North Carolina State University. Lynn and her husband, Brad, make their home in Raleigh and have two daughters, Caroline and Elizabeth.
